St. Scholastica’s College Artists: Josue Greg Zuniega, piano and Christian Tan, violin Christian Tan is one of the Philippines’ leading young gifted violinists, graduating with a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance with an Award for Outstanding Musical Performance from St. Scholastica’s College School of Music.

He is a prize winner in the National Music Competitions for Young Artists, was the youngest delegate to be able to participate in the Asian Youth Orchestra and was chosen to be the concertmaster of the Southeast Asian Youth Chamber Orchestra held in Thailand, Myanmar and Vietnam.

Christian is currently the Assistant Concertmaster of the Manila Symphony Orchestra and a violin teacher at St. Scholastica’s College Manila. Josue Greg Zuniega, pianist, was the valedictorian of his batch at the Philippine High School for the Arts and then earned the highest over-all point average when he was at the University of the Philippines. He later studied at the Moscow State Conservatory and the Royal College of Music, where he was presented the Tagore Gold Medal for excellence by the late Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.

Mr. Zuniega has performed in different parts of the globe and was featured as soloist of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, Manila Symphony Orchestra and the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra for the 70th Anniversary of Philippines-Lebanon Relations. Mr. Zuniega is a music professor at St. Scholastica’s College and gives lecture-concerts, sharing the beauty of classical music to the countryside and has been invited to be a judge for Singapore’s Young Talents’ Project. He also holds degrees in Economics from the London School of Economics and a Masters in Public Management from the U.P.
